We are fully aware that highly competitive quality products can only be generated through the adoption of a world-class production system. Thus, Bentoel persists to stay ahead by keeping up-to-date with global technological advancement and trends and adopts only the best practices.
Among such initiatives is our strategic decision to apply the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
TPM is a production system designed to improve performance and efficiency of manufacturing equipment throughout all operating stages. This integrated and comprehensive system covers all production aspects from planning to maintenance by engaging all employees to actively participate in the process.
On top of the TPM application, Bentoel continues to upgrade its machineries. In 2001, we replaced both our primary and secondary apparatus. We installed the Hauni Protos 80E and Foche 350S machines in the primary and secondary processing of our mild clove cigarette brand Star Mild and linked our Molins MKg with the Foche 349 packer.
Updated primary equipment will support better blending process of tobacco, clove and flavoring, while secondary ones assure efficient filter production, as well as cigarette rolling and packaging.
