One of the significant factors contributed for the growing sales of some brands in 2008 was the successful launching of those brands with new and eye catching packaging using Pre-Press material and ink as well as creative and innovative Flexo Printing technology.
Great team work between Marketing and NTM Development & Packaging and other Directorates in developing and producing new packaging has produced an exclusive packaging which is perceived well by the existing and new cigarette consumers. Based on consumer information via Short Message Service (SMS), the new packaging is highly valued in terms of quality thus brand image of the Company products is positive acknowledged by the consumers in general.
Beside the excellence in developing and printing packaging product, cost efficient in producing this packaging has been achieved, therefore lower cost of production per unit can be achieved. Some other achievements to be noted among others:
• Reduction of printing production waste from year to year
• Significant improvement of products delivery time
• Improvement of productivity of Flexo Printing by about 74% as result of increasing production rate from average 120 m/minute in 2007 to 230 m / minute in 2008.
High spirit of team work and commitment for successfull launch of the new packaging for both internal and external parties, as well as achieving efficiency in production, has done good for Company subsidiary PT Bentoel Prima; which received GOLD FLEXO AWARD (Mid-Web category) during the 6th Asian Print Excellence Awards in AFTA Conference in November 2008. Previously, the Companya won Silver Award in the same event in 2007
