PT. Bentoel Internasional InvestamaTbk. (“The Company”) is one of the leading tobacco companies in Indonesia. It all began when Ong Hok Liong started his cigarette home industry called “Strootjes Fabriek Ong Hok Liong” in 1930, which was then renamed as N.V. Pertjetakan Hien An in 1951. Three years later, it became PT. Perusahaan Rokok Tjap Bentoel. In the late 1960s, the Company was the first manufacturer in Indonesia to produce filtered machine-made kretek and to use plastic wraps. These innovations then became industry-wide standards in the national tobacco industry. In accordance with the Notary Certificate No. 247 dated 11 April 1987, signed before the Notary MisahardiWilamarta, SH., the Company was re-established as PT. Rimba Niaga Idola.
